Let Me Paint You a Picture With My Imagination Brush

You are going about your normal life and then suddenly you stop everything. You stop moving. You stop thinking. But you continue to breathe. You look around to situate yourself and to get your bearings. The simplest of things catches your eyes and you marvel at how incredible it is. You look at your hand and you realise that you can move it, you can bend your finger and you can turn your wrist. You think about the fact that you are seeing the world with your very own eyes. You are experiencing the most amazing thing you could ever imagine. And we take it for granted. You realise that you're alive.

Unfortunately, this kinda thing hasn't happened to me in a long time. This means that I don't stop to think about how amazing life really is. Being amazed that we can see. I want you to take a moment to consider this. Find the sky, or a cloud or even a strand of grass and look at it, really look at it.

I have another relaxation exercise that I do from time to time. Whenever I feel like I can't stuff anymore information into my brain, I stop everything. I clear my mind of all distractions. I take off my glasses and rest my head on a flat soft wooden surface (preferably). Basically I gently press one of my ears onto this surface. My arms are as relaxed as I can make them. I try to focus on hearing the waves of the ocean. It helps to have heard the ocean at least once in your life. Let the sound flow through you, let it free you. That's what I do. This technique is what I call a natural tranquillizer.

We live in a fast-paced world, a bit too fast for my taste. So I simply don't keep up with that, it's not my thing. I'm learning how to smile. Don't forget my credo: Keep it Chill.
