Singing Along to Feeling Alright

Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 01:36:25

Hey everyone

Let's start with a few observations I made in recent days:

I think that job interviews should include a small discussion about what you did wrong in your interview and why they didn't pick you. Because I'm sitting here after doing 3 interviews and clueless as to what I did wrong. I have theories but that's it. I'm doubting what i might be doing right.

Get this, the laundry room is a great place to talk to people, forget all the parties or going out to the bar to meet girls or meeting girls at school, I had it all wrong. The laundry room is where it's at. I don't know how I didn't see it before now, I mean, they have everything you need. There's a piano close by so that takes care of ambient music and there's a coke machine. I guess it's not the surroundings that matter in this case, it's the fact that everyone needs to go there eventually. And there are all kinds of things you can do with this, you can pretend that you work fulltime as a laundry machine operator and you start helping them but just before you start up the machine you take your 5 minutes break.

Trust the Mraz to help me write some of these cool new thoughts down. I don't know how this works but his music just has the right vibe for writing the kind of blog I'm aiming for.

? Thank you for giving me the best day of my life ? ~Dido
Maybe I should say 'year' instead of 'life' but even though I didn't see anybody who wished me happy birthday from a distance, you still helped to make my day that much better

? Singing along to feeling alright ? ~Hanson
You can't deny Hansons from being easygoing and uplifting. I can't wait to see what they will have to offer us with their next album, and I am hoping they do come out with another album soon enough.

? I'm finding it hard to believe, we're in heaven ? ~Yanou
I think that too many people try not to sin just because they want to go to heaven. What if you tried to not sin, but not because you wanted to go to heaven, but just because you wanted to be a better person? If I dropped the bombshell that we are in heaven right now and some of us aren't enjoying life to it's fullest. It's a feel-good song, sure but it's doing it's job and that's all that counts. :)

And now for the main presentation:

Happy Birthday to me.

Why do I want to get some cool and optimistic songs? Maybe because they help me get the right mindset. Wherever I am, I keep trying to be as optimistic as possible but I also want it to be effortless so what better way but to inspire oneself with optimistic music that will make you want to live life to it's fullest.

And now here is the list of songs I received:

A special shout-out to Katie whose birthday is on March 28th.

One of the coolest things that happened today was the fact that at 11pm I was about to go to sleep when someone knocked at my door. I open the door and found two of my friends, Karine and Phil, standing there. It took me a moment to realise what they were holding in their hands, it was a gorgeous chocolate cake. Upon this realisation we proceeded with full-filling all the rituals related to birthday cakes. First and foremost, I wished for something, I think it's obvious what I would wish for, I wish for that same thing every year. Shortly after I blew out the candles and we started taking a few pictures. Then we started a journey towards the common kitchen. I cut the cake and we ate.

*This is a useless footnote that is here just to confuse the reader.

**I used part of the email I sent to Katie in this journal entry to describe the events of my late night birthday cake.
